River City Security Services is adding Unarmed Security Officers for evening and overnight coverage at client locations throughout Jacksonville.

Night security requires someone who can remain alert and engaged when activity is limited, recognize when something is out of place, and document what occurs during the shift. We are seeking dependable officers who are comfortable working independently and understand that quiet does not mean there is nothing to do.

Our officers are expected to actively monitor their assigned properties, complete required patrols, follow post orders, and communicate promptly when an incident or unusual condition occurs.

Typical Night Shift Duties

Depending on your assignment, you may:

• Patrol buildings, parking lots, grounds, and perimeter areas

• Check doors, gates, windows, restricted areas, and other designated locations

• Monitor vehicle and pedestrian activity entering or leaving the property

• Perform scheduled security rounds and checkpoint inspections

• Monitor CCTV or other security systems when provided

• Identify unauthorized individuals, suspicious behavior, hazards, damage, or unusual activity

• Respond to alarms, disturbances, emergencies, and other incidents

• Notify supervisors and emergency services when required

• Document patrol activity throughout the shift

• Prepare accurate incident reports when something occurs

• Secure designated areas according to site procedures

• Maintain awareness of the property throughout the entire shift

• Remain at the assigned post until properly relieved

Who We're Looking For

Successful candidates must have:

• Current Florida Class D Security Officer License or temporary blue card

• Reliable transportation

• Ability to successfully complete required background screening

• Ability to successfully complete a drug screening

• Dependable attendance

• Ability to stay awake, attentive, and engaged throughout evening or overnight shifts

• Professional communication skills

• Ability to complete detailed electronic reports

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

• Ability to work independently without constant supervision

• Smartphone access for company scheduling, timekeeping, patrols, and reporting

• Ability to walk or stand for extended periods when required

Nice to have:

Depending on the assignment, preference may be given to applicants with:

• Previous overnight security experience

• Mobile or foot patrol experience

• Access control experience

• CCTV experience

• TWIC credentials

• Valid driver's license

• Military or public safety experience

• CPR, First Aid, de-escalation, or emergency response training

Current staffing needs include:

• Evening shifts

• Overnight shifts

• Weekend shifts

• Full-time and part-time schedules

Schedules and work locations vary by client assignment.

Because security posts must remain covered, reliable attendance and punctuality are essential to this position. Officers are expected to report for every accepted shift and remain on duty until properly relieved.
