About the Role

ICS Security Services is seeking a seasoned unarmed security professional to support the safety and daily operations of a private school in Montgomery County. This is a professional, relationship-focused position suited to someone who can maintain a visible, reassuring presence while interacting respectfully with students, families, faculty, staff, and visitors.This is not an entry-level position. The successful candidate will bring sound judgment, strong communication skills, and at least five years of security experience. Experience in a school or other educational setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional, visible security presence throughout the assigned campus.

• Monitor access points and follow school procedures for visitor check-in and entry.

• Observe campus activity, identify potential safety or security concerns, and respond appropriately.

• Conduct assigned patrols and report unusual activity, hazards, or incidents promptly.

• Communicate calmly and respectfully with students, parents, visitors, faculty, and staff.

• Help de-escalate tense situations using sound judgment and professional communication.

• Follow site post orders, emergency procedures, and instructions from school leadership.

• Prepare clear, accurate incident and activity reports.

• Coordinate with school personnel and emergency responders when needed.

• Protect the privacy and dignity of everyone on campus.

Qualifications

• At least five years of security experience; experience in an educational setting is strongly preferred.

• Current CPR and AED certifications.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Professional appearance, dependable attendance, and a calm, approachable manner.

• Good judgment and the ability to remain composed in changing situations.

• Ability to interact appropriately with children and adults from varied backgrounds.

• Ability to follow written procedures, communicate concerns, and complete reports.

• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, including standing and walking for extended periods.
